NIST:
NIST stands for the National Institute for Standards and Technology. They
are they organization responsible for maintaining the master for different
measurements. They have the items such as the standard "foot", the
standard "second," and the standard "pound" They also
keep the standard for temperature, humidity and pressure. All of our instruments
are calibrated to be traceable to NIST. Traceable to NIST means the our master
standard can be traced directly to the master standard maintained by the NIST
organization. More information on NIST can be found on www.nist.gov
ISO 17025:
Our highest level of calibration is ISO 17025 accredited by A2LA. ISO 17025
is the ISO standard the takes ISO 9000 requirements and adds a large section
for calibration and testing laboratories. Being accredited to ISO 17025 is
the most rigorous quality standard in the measurement industry. It is very
difficult to attain, much more so then a standard ISO 9000 certification,
and a majority of calibration providers operating today have not achieved
this accreditation.
A2LA:
A2LA stands for the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation. A2LA
is an organization that accredits calibration and testing facilities like
ours to the ISO 17025 standard. They are recognized as a third party auditor
for this standard not only in the United States, but internationally as well.
When a customer purchases our highest level of calibration, the calibration
certificate will have an A2LA accredited logo on the certificate. More information
about A2LA can be found at www.A2LA.org
